Lately, I've been catching up on Rugrats, since it was one of the many cartoons I had the good fortune to grow up watching. I've now caught up with all nine seasons. I even went to the trouble of watching all three of the movies, both of the Tales from the Crib direct-to-video films, and all four episodes of the short-lived Preschool Daze spinoff. Right now, I am in the process of watching All Grown Up so that I can finally be caught up for sure.

Once I'm caught up 100%, I plan to make a comic about the Rugrats gang when they are adults, and my intentions are for the comic to be enjoyed by Rugrats fans of all kinds. There will be references to many episodes of the original show and I also plan to have Eliza Thornberry make a cameo as well as Kip O'Donnel and Neil Beidermann, occasional antagonists on The Wild Thornberrys that never showed up after season two (yes, I've also caught up on The Wild Thornberrys).

Anyway, I'm also kind of upset to hear that Jack Riley, the voice actor of Tommy Pickles' father Stu Pickles, passed away recently. First Chuckie Finster's original voice actress Christine Cavanaugh, then Grandpa Lou's second voice actor Joe Alaskey. Who knows what other Rugrats voice actor will have an unfortunate visit from the Grim Reaper? Probably Phil Proctor, who voiced Phil and Lil's dad Howard DeVille. He will be missed.

Because I'm both happy to revisit one of my childhood favorite cartoons and sad that some of the voice actors behind it are no longer with us, I've decided to make this short comic to prepare myself for the aforementioned story about the Rugrats as grownups. I felt that the comic should be about Tommy Pickles, Dil Pickles, Chuckie Finster, Kimi Finster, and Phil and Lil DeVille saying goodbye to their babysitter Taffy, since she wasn't heard from again after the original show and one sad but true thing we all have to accept when we grow older is that our oldest friends won't always be with us.

I know that Taffy wasn't a particularly liked character, but I do not have the same opinion. I find her very likable since she does care about the babies.

I'm sorry if any of the characters look a little off. I don't have much practice at drawing Rugrats characters, and there aren't many references of the Rugrats gang as 3 to 4-year-olds.

I guess that's when all grown up started.
