Snow Miser and Heat Miser Fight by LuciferTheShort Snow Miser and Heat Miser Fight by LuciferTheShort

How many of you ever watched the Christmas films by Rankin-Bass? Okay. How many of those of you who saw the Rankin-Bass films ever saw the 1974 classic The Year Without a Santa Claus, loosely based on the poem of the same name? If you said yes, you undoubtedly must remember these two fellows: Heat Miser and Snow Miser.

Mrs. Claus tries to reason with the brothers so that they can get it to snow in Southtown, but because the Misers hate each other, things are a mite difficult. Luckily, Mrs. Claus solves the problem by telling on them to their mother, Mother Nature. Mother Nature then gives a compromise: Snow Miser gets to make it snow in Southtown, and in exchange Heat Miser gets to melt the snow at the North Pole to bring Spring just this once.

The Miser brothers are the most well-known and most remembered part of The Year Without a Santa Claus, and it is not hard to see why. Both are very amusing and it is always entertaining to see them quarrel and argue, but I believe what we really like them best for would be their catchy songs, but I will get to those later.

I have heard recently that there was a live-action remake of The Year Without a Santa Claus starring John Goodman as Santa and with a drastically modified story. I have been under the impression that lots of people hate this live-action version, but I am willing to try it because this wouldn't be the first Christmas movie with John Goodman as Santa Claus that I've ever seen, and it would be interesting to see the Misers singing their songs to express how they oppose each other, given the polar opposite nature of their songs' lyrics.

I also heard of a sequel giving them the spotlight in 2008 animated by Cuppa Coffee Productions. Like the live-action remake, I wish to give this sequel a try.

Without further ado, here's the lyrics to Snow Miser's song.

SNOW MISER: I'm Mister White Christmas, I'm Mister Snow. I'm Mister Icicle, I'm Mister Ten Below. Friends call me Snow Miser. Whatever I touch turns to snow in my clutch. I'm too much!

SNOW MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's Mister White Christmas, He's Mister Snow. He's Mister Icicle, He's Mister Ten Below.

SNOW MISER: Friends call me Snow Miser. Whatever I touch turns to snow in my clutch.

SNOW MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's too much!

SNOW MISER: I never want to know a day that's over 40 degrees! I'd rather it 30, 20, 10, 5, and let it freeze!

SNOW MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's Mister White Christmas, He's Mister Snow. He's Mister Icicle, He's Mister Ten Below.

SNOW MISER: Friends call me Snow Miser. Whatever I touch turns to snow in my clutch. I'm too much!

SNOW MISER'S UNDERLINGS: Too much!

Now for Heat Miser's song.

HEAT MISER: I'm Mister Green Christmas, I'm Mister Sun. I'm Mister Heat Blister, I'm Mister 101. They call me Heat Miser. Whatever I touch starts to melt in my clutch. I'm too much!

HEAT MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's Mister Green Christmas, He's Mister Sun. He's Mister Heat Blister, He's Mister 101.

HEAT MISER: They call me Heat Miser. Whatever I touch starts to melt in my clutch.

HEAT MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's too much!

HEAT MISER: I never want to know a day that's under 60 degrees! I'd rather have it 80, 90, 100 degrees!

HEAT MISER'S UNDERLINGS: He's Mister Green Christmas, He's Mister Sun. He's Mister Heat Blister, He's Mister 101.

HEAT MISER: They call me Heat Miser. Whatever I touch starts to melt in my clutch. I'm too much!

HEAT MISER'S UNDERLINGS: Too much!

What do you think?

I remember that I've watched it before.
Have you seen the sequel yet?

No, but I did watch the trailer. Like with Hotel Transylvania. The trailer made me want to watch it more. I laughed at Snow Miser and Heat Miser arguing over whether it should be a White Christmas or a Green Christmas yet.
