My Favorite Movie and TV Babies

This is a picture of some of my favorite babies from television shows and films I have seen. It is not all of them, however, because I forgot about Plastic Man's infant son Baby Plas from the late 70's and early 80's Plastic Man cartoon by Ruby-Spears and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, plus I did not feel like drawing Tommy and Dil Pickles, Phil and Lil, Chuckie Finster, and Kimi, though I do have fond memories of watching Rugrats as a kid.

Pubert Addams-

The third child of Gomez and Morticia Addams introduced in Addams Family Values, the second and last live-action film by Orion and Paramount (I actually liked Addams Family Reunion, but it is not of the same continuity as the other live-action films, and it was only made as a pilot for The New Addams Family).

When Pubert came into the world, Wednesday and Pugsley did not get along well with him because they believed that it was Addams tradition that having more than two kids meant that one of the older children had to die. Grandmama, however, later told them that the tradition was put to rest, and Pubert was the one who killed the film's villain, a gold digger named Debbie who married Uncle Fester and attempted to kill him.

Damn it, I also forgot Cousin Itt's son from the same movie!

Pubert never made an appearance ever since Values, but he was given a disturbing allusion in The New Addams Family in the episode that was a remake of the old 60's show episode where Wednesday and Pugsley had to go to school. Wednesday mentions to Mr. Hiller that there used to be three Addams children, but Pugsley ate the third one. I've always liked the Addams Family for the dark humor they provide, but that joke is one of the few jokes that didn't make me laugh. Then again, given how nice and naive Pugsley was in that show, as well as how mean Wednesday was, it is possible she was just making that up to scare the truant officer.

Maggie Simpson-

The Simpsons has been going on for a long time, and I still enjoy watching it.

Maggie Simpson is one of my favorite characters because of how smart she is despite her young age. I especially like the rare occasions where she laughs and babbles.

Stewie Griffin-

Family Guy has for a long time been accused of being a clone of The Simpsons. Such a statement makes me laugh because I don't remember Maggie being a bisexual evil genius or Lisa being considered the ugliest girl alive, and also because the jokes on Family Guy tend to be darker and more vulgar than what The Simpsons tend to get away with.

I will have to say that my opinion on Family Guy is mixed. There were many moments that made me laugh, but also some that made me want to wretch. My least favorite moment would be the Christmas episode that ended with Peter rudely threatening to call the cops when a pregnant couple asked the insensitive bastard for help! And it was after he told the family of Jesus Christ's birth, no less!

Stewie Griffin provided a lot of comedy because even though he was an evil genius, he was at times shown to have the naivety infants tend to usually have, like when Peter played peek-a-boo with him and he actually believed Peter had vanished.

Poof-

The son of Timmy Turner's Fairy Godparents Cosmo and Wanda who was introduced in the sixth season of the Fairly OddParents.

I like Poof because, well, I can't really think of a good reason why I like him. I just think babies are adorable.

I have also heard that they now have a dog in the cast, but I have no opinion yet because I don't have time to catch up on Fairly OddParents at the moment, and I consider it shallow to judge a new character when I barely know them.

Baby Pac-Man, Pac-Baby, and Baby Pac-

Technically speaking, all of these babies are the same character, but I like all of them just the same.

As you may know, the success of Pac-Man led to Namco having Midway make a sequel called Ms. Pac-Man, which followed the adventures of Pac-Man's wife. Baby Pac-Man's first ever appearance was in one of the game's cutscenes, where Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man saw their child being delivered by the stork, and the child addressed in the caption as "Junior".

This, along with other evidence, suggests that Baby Pac-Man, who would make his debut in one of several unauthorized sequels Midway made without Namco's consent, was originally intended to be male.

Pac-Man's popularity also brought into being a cartoon series by Hanna-Barbera, which is notable for being the very first cartoon based on a video game and starring Marty Ingels as the title character. Baby Pac-Man was on the show as Pac-Baby and was again male. In spite of several departures from the source material, the Hanna-Barbera chartoon has quite a following.

I find Pac-Baby to be very adorable. You could say he is my Ensemble Darkhorse of the Hanna-Barbera animated series. Ensemble Darkhorse is TV Tropes lingo for a character that fans find more popular than the others.

As a matter of fact, the cartoon was so successful that some elements of it were eventually adapted into the games. There was a game called Pac-Land that featured the theme music of the cartoon and had the sprites redesigned to more closely resemble the cartoon characters in the American release. Pac-Man's dog Chomp Chomp also made it to the games, first appearing in a modified version of Pac and Pal where he replaced the renegade ghost that assisted Pac-Man.

Pac-Man was also given an evolved family consisting of Ms. Pac-Man as his wife, Professor Pac-Man as his uncle, his son Jr. Pac-Man, and Pac-Baby as his infant daughter.

In celebration of his 30th anniversary, they have decided to reboot the Pac-Man series. I could learn to live with the redesigns, but I do miss Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Baby, and the other members of the Pac-Family.

Last year, there has also premiered a new cartoon called Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, which stars Pac-Man as a high school student who fights the forces of a ghost named Betrayus and is assisted by his classmates Cylindria and Spiral as well as the four ghosts Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde, who are now his allies instead of his enemies.

The show has a divisive reception, but I am interested in seeing it. Were it not for a friend of mine showing a clip of it to me, I wouldn't be aware that they still made cartoons based on video games. I thought they became a thing of the past until then.

My interest in Ghostly Adventures has increased severely after finding out that apparently, Pac's parents are the original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man. I have also seen that Sunny looks a little like the way Ms. Pac-Man appeared in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, and I haven't seen any pictures confirming it, but I have read a source claiming that Pac's dad Zac wears a fedora similar to the one Pac-Man wore in the old cartoon.

I have not seen episodes of this show yet, and I don't intend to until I've been caught up with the Hanna-Barbera show and the original pre-reboot games, but I already find Baby Pac to be very cute.
